Capacity Theorems for Covert Bosonic Channels

Abstract:

We examine quantum-secure covert communication over bosonic channels, the quantum-mechanical model of many practical channels. We derive expressions for the covert capacity when 1) Alice and Bob share only a classical secret, and 2) when they share an entanglement resource. We find that entanglement assistance improves the covert throughput scaling by a log(n) factor, where n is the number of channel uses.
