NSF for Beginners

A talk by NSF Program Director Phil Regalia presents a brief overview of the National Science Foundations, aimed at (soon to be) early career researchers learning to navigate funding opportunities. It covers NSF’s role in the nation’s research ecosystem, reviews some programs of interest to those working in information theory and adjacent areas, highlights programs aimed specifically at junior faculty, and offers some perspectives on proposal writing and common mistakes to avoid.
